Welcome back to our regular A to Z of Excel Functions blog. Today we look at the RANDBETWEEN function.
The RANDBETWEEN function
The RANDBETWEEN function returns a random integer number between two numbers you specify. This is a volatile function: a new random integer number is returned every time the worksheet is calculated.
The RANDBETWEEN syntax is as follows:
= RANDBETWEEN(bottom, top)
It has the following arguments:
- bottom: this is required and represents the smallest integer RANDBETWEEN will return
- top: this is also required and represents the largest integer RANDBETWEEN will return.
